Finding events
How do I find events near me?
The upcoming events page shows every event from every store on TableRally, soonest first. Type a city, state, or ZIP and pick a radius (10, 25, 50, or 100 miles) to narrow it down. TableRally never asks your browser for your precise location -- it only ever uses what you type, or a home location you've saved to your account.
Can I filter by game type?
Not yet -- today you can filter by location and distance, but not by game type. Each event still shows its game type on the card so you can scan for what you're looking for.
Claiming a seat or joining a waitlist
How do I sign up for an event?
Open the event and click "Claim a spot." If the event is already full, the same button reads "Join waitlist" instead. Either way you'll get a confirmation right away, and you can see your status on the event page: "You're signed up!" or "You're on the waitlist."
How does the waitlist work?
Waitlists are first-in, first-out. If someone cancels their spot, or the organizer increases the event's capacity, the next person on the waitlist is automatically moved into a real seat and notified -- you don't need to keep checking back.
Cancelling a registration
How do I cancel my spot?
Open the event and click "Cancel my spot." If you were registered (not waitlisted), your seat may immediately go to the next person on the waitlist.
Syncing with your calendar
Can I add a single event to my phone's calendar?
Yes -- on any event page, click "Add to calendar" to download a file that Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, and Outlook all understand. You'll also get the same file attached to your registration-confirmation email.
Can my whole schedule stay in sync automatically?
Yes -- from Personal Settings, generate your calendar link under "Calendar sync" and add it to your calendar app as a subscription (sometimes called "subscribe by URL"). It includes everything you're registered for or organizing, and updates on its own if a time changes or an event is cancelled -- no need to re-download anything. Treat the link like a password: anyone who has it can see your events, so only share it with a calendar app you trust, and regenerate it any time from the same page if you ever need to.
Your account
How do I sign in?
With email and password, or with a Google or Apple account. All three work the same way once you're signed in.
Is there an age requirement?
TableRally accounts are meant for people 13 and older, per our Terms of Service -- this isn't checked by a form field, it's a condition of using the service.
Do I need two-factor authentication?
It's optional for players -- you can turn it on from your account settings if you want the extra security. It's only required for store owners and managers, since they can take real actions on behalf of a store.
All-ages events and the minor/guardian checkbox
What does the "All-ages" badge mean?
It's a label the organizer adds when they consider their event family-friendly. It's a signal from the organizer, not something TableRally verifies.
What is the "parent or guardian is aware" checkbox when I register?
If you're under 18, you can optionally check a box confirming a parent or guardian is aware of your registration. It's entirely self-attested -- TableRally doesn't verify anyone's age, and leaving it unchecked doesn't stop you from registering. It exists to create a clear record, not to gate sign-ups.
Groups
What's a Group?
A Group is a circle you can create with friends to organize your own events -- separate from any store. By default, a Group is private: free, invite-only, capped at 30 members, and only an existing member can invite someone new. A Group's Admin can also apply to make it public instead -- discoverable by everyone via Find a Group, the same way a store is, once a TableRally staff member has reviewed it.
How is a Group event different from a store event?
A private Group's events are only visible to its members -- they never show up in public search. If a private Group event is hosted at someone's home, any member can see the exact address regardless of whether they've personally registered for that specific event, since membership itself is what makes you trusted with that information. A public Group's events are viewable by anyone, same as a store's, and are labeled "Group event" wherever they appear -- but you still need to actually be a member of the Group to register for one, even though you can see it.
How do I join a public Group?
Visit the Group's page from Find a Group and click "Request to join," optionally with a short note. The Group's own Admins review each request and approve or decline it -- there's no automatic approval, and a public Group has no member cap.
Do I need two-factor authentication to be a Group Admin?
Yes -- TableRally requires two-factor authentication for any account that's an Admin of a Group (private or public), the same requirement a store's Owner or Event Manager already has. The first time you visit a Group you admin, you'll be walked through a quick setup using an authenticator app like Google Authenticator or 1Password. Regular Group members don't need it.
Reporting a problem
How do I report an event, store, or another player?
Every event, store, and venue page has a "Report a problem" link, and you can report a specific attendee from an event's attendee list too (you can't report yourself). Pick the issue that fits and add any details -- our team reviews every report by hand.
