A tournament of woodland might and right! Test your mettle and lead your faction to victory in this two-round Root Tournament! In the first round, players will be assigned a faction randomly, which will additionally determine their table and seating order. The winners at each table (and runners-up, as needed) will advance to the final round. In the final round, players can choose to play as any of the factions from their first-round table. There will be some restrictions to ensure a balanced final round (e.g., guaranteed to contain two militant and two insurgent factions). Players are expected to have a solid understanding of Root, as well as the ability to quickly pick up on the mechanics of any faction they are assigned in the first round. Devin will be available in the first round to answer any questions and provide a quick rundown of factions as needed, but teaching EVERY player their factions would grind the tournament to a halt! Each round is planned to take three hours (including the time for getting everyone settled and seated). The first round starts at 11am. The second round starts at 2pm. If your table finishes the first round early, feel free to take a break - no need to sit around and wait until 2pm! If ALL tables finish early and everyone is available, we will start the second round ASAP!
